Concert wrap-up

Hear the Voices concert was fantastic!
Once over the hurdles of venue and changing acts, we only had three weeks to promote - a scary prospect, especially with a clash of an important nearby township meeting. We had no idea how many would attend, and it was only as the audience streamed in to the church and helpers ran for more chairs, that we knew we had a success.
So, the audience was great, the four acts were fantastic, impressive hampers were raffled, and the renowned Oxfam cakes sold like... hotcakes. Even the MC (yours truly) was ok!

All up, the concert made $2200 for Oxfam Australia.

For the record, the venue, Upwey Baptist Church is an excellent performance venue: modern, well-equipped, with good parking. I recommend it.

I am grateful to the very generous performers, and to the Dandenong Ranges Oxfam Group who always give of their best to support an event with cooking, logistics and heroic dish-washing, as we decline to use disposable supplies.
