This group is one of over 60 regional groups across Australia.

We fundraise locally and raise awareness of Oxfam's long-term development, emergency, advocacy and campaigning work.

Activities include:

  • community dinners and performances
  • film screenings
  • open gardens
  • guest speakers for monthly meetings
  • campaigns in partnership with other local social justice groups

Meetings
Meetings are held at 8pm on the fourth Thursday of the month at Belgrave Library (Alexanders carpark).

Monthly public meetings often start with a guest speaker or discussion topic, 8-9pm, followed by a coffee break and planning focus.

Recent meetings have focussed on Fair Trade (eg Fairwear and Nike campaigns), micro-credit systems, Aboriginal reconciliation, Mining Ombudsman, East Timor, West Papua, Cuba.
