Hear the Voices concert for refugees

Oxfam Australia Dandenong Ranges Group is holding a concert to support Oxfam’s work for and with refugees called Hear the Voices.

Oxfam works in refugee camps around the world helping to provide clean water and sanitation.

In Australia, Oxfam advocates to hold the government to its obligations under international humanitarian law towards people seeking asylum.

This concert draws on local and Melbourne-based music groups:

Charmaine Schmidt's a capella Welcome choir from the Basin, plus the amazing

Pan African Choir, Melbourne-based choir with songs and drumming from across Africa, directed by Jen Skate and Chris Lesser
Folkus String Ensemble : Fiona and Will, a local accomplished duo, featuring voice, violin and multiple guitars, play ethereal and energetic world music.
Ending with an exciting duo, Quashani Bahd and Creo : singing of life and love in melodic blues and reggae.

The concert is set for Sunday afternoon 18th July from 2-4.30pm

Venue is the very comfortable Baptist Church, cnr Burwood Hwy and Darling Ave , Upwey, just at the station’s north exit.

Tickets are just $13. At interval, you can buy the group’s renowned coffee and cakes, plus the chance to win at the raffle.
While pre-payment is not needed, I would love to have rsvps.
Best wishes

Judy
